What Matters More—Living Longer or Living Better?

What are your thoughts on the concept of living a very long life?

Living a long life is meaningful if spent building connections, creating memories, and leaving a lasting legacy. It’s not about the years we have but how we live them.

Living a Really, Really Long Life: Reflecting on Time and Purpose

A year ago, I shared my thoughts on the intriguing concept of living a very long life—imagining endless sunsets, generations of stories, and the beauty of shared experiences. I pondered the promise of extended lifespans, fueled by scientific breakthroughs hinting at the possibility of living to 130.

But with longevity comes questions—would boredom or loneliness creep in? Could the costs of care and sustainability overshadow the joy of extra years? Or would a longer life allow us to learn endlessly, explore the world, and leave an even greater legacy?

Ultimately, the heart of the reflection wasn’t just about how long we live but how we live. It’s about savoring each moment, building connections, and making a meaningful impact—no matter the number of years we’re given.

Revisiting these thoughts today reminds us to embrace life’s present moments while dreaming boldly for the future.
