What Burns Brightly Within You?
By Johnbritto Kurusumuthu, Founder & Editor-in-Chief of Rise&Inspire
There’s a certain silence that speaks louder than applause.
A moment, still and solitary, when you are doing something no one sees—no audience, no likes, no reward—yet you glow.
That, my friend, is passion.
But let me begin by saying this: Passion isn’t loud. It’s not always the fiery speech, the stage lights, or the triumph of a dream fulfilled. It can be quiet. Slow. Maddeningly persistent. It may not even look like passion to anyone else.
In a world obsessed with labels—entrepreneur, artist, influencer—passion often gets boxed in with talent or occupation. But real passion? It leaks through cracks. It shows up uninvited. It tugs at your soul in quiet rooms, when no one’s watching.
For me, passion is the invisible thread that sews the moments of my life together.
It’s the spark behind every word I write on Rise&Inspire.
It’s the quiet rebellion against cynicism.
It’s the commitment to motivation and positivity, not because the world always gives me reasons to believe—but precisely because it sometimes doesn’t.
You want to know what I’m passionate about?
I’m passionate about transformation.
Not the glamorous, butterfly-coming-out-of-a-cocoon version. I mean the messy, uncertain, deeply human kind. The version where someone reads one sentence and chooses not to give up. The version where you see someone doubting themselves, and you tell them: “You’re more than enough.”
I’m passionate about words that heal.
Ideas that challenge.
And silences that reveal.
I’m passionate about small moments with immense echoes. Like a child choosing kindness. A stranger offering help. A blogger publishing despite no comments. A person praying when logic says it’s over.
And yes—I’m passionate about questions.
The dangerous kind. The real kind. The ones that don’t let you sleep.
Like: What if your greatest gift is buried beneath your fear?
Or: What if no one ever discovers your art—would you still create?
That’s the furnace I feed.
Every. Single. Day.
Because passion, for me, isn’t what I do.
It’s why I do it.
I didn’t start Rise&Inspire to shout into a void. I started it because someone, somewhere, needed a reason to get up. To believe again. To feel less alone.
You see, the world is tired. People are overwhelmed. Screens are glowing but hearts are dimming. In that flickering chaos, my passion is a whisper that dares to say: You can rise. You can inspire. Start now.
I write not to impress. I write to ignite.
So What Are You Passionate About?
Don’t look too far.
It’s not always a grand mission.
Sometimes, it’s a quiet longing, a sense of injustice, a love that won’t quit.
It’s the thing you’d still do if nobody ever clapped.
Key Takeaway:
True passion is less about excitement and more about endurance. It’s the quiet, stubborn fire that keeps burning—even when the world turns cold. Find what you’d still do in the silence—and you’ll find your passion.
FAQ
Q: Does passion need to be career-related?
A: Not at all. Passion is personal—it can live in your hobbies, relationships, service, or silent rituals.
Q: What if I haven’t found my passion yet?
A: That’s okay. Start by noticing what pulls you in. What angers you. What moves you. Passion often hides behind your emotions.
Q: Can passion change over time?
A: Absolutely. As you evolve, so does what lights your inner fire.
